There are two types of assignments in this class: essay portfolios, and weekly work.

Essay portfolios have multiple components that we will complete at the same time over the course of several weeks, and strict(er) due dates. If you’re going to miss a deadline, I want you to let me know so I can plan accordingly.

Weekly work has more flexible due dates. If you miss a weekly assignment, you can just do two the next week, or do one later in the semester, and you don’t need to tell me. Some of the assignments will take you longer than others, but you can choose which assignments to do and when to do them depending on your interest in a text, your schedule, and which skill you’re trying to develop. Depending on which grade you’re working toward in the grading agreement, you can also choose how many assignments to do.
